Happy Tuesday everyone ..
Today I want to briefly discuss a destructive phenomenon I see happening everyday among "newbie" online marketers ..
I call it "chasing rainbows" ...
It reminds me of the story of the "kid in the candy shop" who see's so many tempting things, they can't focus on any one .... It's also like watching a compulsive gambler desperately trying to hit it "big" or recoup massive loss's ... It's a sickness and one that causes 98% of ALL online marketers to FAIL.
As an experienced marketer, I feel sorry for these people ... They are out of control and don't recognize it - I see it every single day and it breaks my heart because I know there's not much I can do to stop their self destructive path aside from trying to "warn" them of the danger ahead!
This brings me to another sad thing I've noticed ... These "newbies" seem to now be "empowered" with the wisdom of the ages after only a few weeks online - Even more dangerous because now they think they know what they're doing ..
Every day I see them posting ads on places like Facebook, etc hoping that social media / free advertising will make them wildly successful .. Wrong!
I also see a "new breed" of "dream merchants" peddling the same old, recycled concepts to these people .. Case and point, I recently attended a webinar hosted by a well known, respected marketer - A marketer I have history & have made money with ... The irony of this 2 hour sales pitch (disguised as an alleged "work shop") was the presenter railing on and on about people wasting their money on "shiny objects" and countless "courses" and then proceeded to sell HIS COURSE to these people for $1000.00! What I found to be the funniest part of this "pep rally" style "work shop" is that the course he was pushing is information people can acquire on their own / free of charge if they took the time to learn their craft instead of thinking paying $1000.00 plus will magically transform their lives! Have people honestly become that lazy?!
I have been "out here" for over two decades, I learned my skills the hard way, by rolling up my sleeves and jumping in! Yes, I've been fortunate enough to have been mentored by some of the online "legends" but, not one ever tried to sell me a course -
Online marketing is constantly evolving and becoming more and more competitive however, technology has made it far easier then it was "back in the day" ...
The one thing that will always distinguish the successful from the failures is a very simple thing & one that I don't believe can be bought or taught .. This simple ingredient is nothing more than motivation! Without it, you'll constantly be chasing rainbows and spinning your wheels out here!
All you need to be successful online (or off) is passion, motivation and focus! With these simple things (all of which are found within ones self) you can achieve anything you desire!
Learn / master your craft. Find / do what you love. Stay focused and motivated - Without focus / motivation and self confidence, NO course on the Planet will change your circumstances!
Believe in yourself, change negative thinking to a positive "can do" attitude. Discipline yourself, remove old, bad habits and thinking, and you can and will change your life & the lives of those around you!
Remember, extraordinary people are merely normal people with an exceptional amount of drive and determination!
